Some thoughts on Pluto’s ingress into Aquarius - Collective Re-Birth
Everyone is talking about it. Pluto just entered Aquarius, and the world is losing its mind! We’ve heard about the last time it happened - when the French, American, and Industrial Revolutions loomed on the horizon. And it feels we are on the brink again! Extreme polarization dominates. It seems as if we are living in a giant centrifuge, and all we have relied on in the past is transforming in real time with no real clear vision of how it will all unfold. But what we do know is that we are beginning a 20 year transit that will determine long term consequences for humanity. In short, we are evolving. So where do we begin?
First let’s look at Pluto. We can get a sense of its energy by looking at how its identity has shifted since its discovery. Eris not only took away its status as farthest planet from the sun with her discovery in 2005, and but because she was larger in size her presence ignited a debate which changed the way a planet is defined, thus demoting Pluto to a dwarf planet in 2006 - only a year and half before its first ingress into Capricorn. So the last 20 years, Pluto has been dealing with a reality check in terms of its efforts in business and politics. Often associated with deep, hidden power issues, Pluto is a heavy planet sharing co-rulership of Scorpio along with Mars. Mars is our fire, intuition, and will; it drives us. And in relation to Pluto, his transits give life to these behind the scenes power dynamics. Pluto itself governs the realm of the underworld - all the things we really don’t want to face, such as issues of life, death, sex, money. And whatever Pluto touches will be transformed and reborn in some way.
With Pluto in Aquarius, we are talking about human life itself. When we observe both Uranus and Saturn as co-rulers of Aquarius, we can see the basic structure of the lifespan in play. Uranus is a generational planet with an 84 year orbit and rules the current length of the average human lifespan. Saturn has a 28-30 year orbit, which is the current length of an average life stage. So there’s a dance here between these two planets in terms of growth and development. Uranus is generally associated with age and awareness in a collective way, Saturn is more about our age and development as an individual, and the two work together to evolve. This is where Pluto is now.
Because Pluto is a generational planet, its transits will affect different age groups accordingly. Because its orbit is greater than the human life span, not all signs are featured. At the moment, all living humans either have Pluto in Cancer (depression kids), Leo (baby boomers), Virgo (civil rights kids), Libra (gen x), Scorpio (millennial), Sagittarius (gen z), and Capricorn (generation yet to be named), and now as of last week, Aquarius. For those who are Pluto in Leo, this transit is oppositional, and for Pluto in Libra, this energy is flowing. For Pluto in Cancer, this energy is on its way out with peripheral effects. For Pluto in Capricorn, the effects are only emerging. For Pluto in Virgo, flowing effects are waning, as you just enjoyed the trine phase while it was in Capricorn. For Pluto in Scorpio, the energy is a square.
Pluto in Libra folks will gain power during this transit, and that power will oppose the power that Pluto in Leo established, which will create huge changes for those with Pluto in Scorpio which will inform current choices and life directions. Pluto in Cancer is being ushered aside, as Pluto completes its opposition to the Capricorn energy carried in by the next generation of children. Pluto in Sagittarius will receive the sextile, providing an opportunity to learn from this transit in order to prepare for the time when faced with life decisions that determine their power. Pluto in Capricorn will continue to absorb, as power is still under parental authority.
On a personal level, natal Pluto and Mars can show us where these hidden power dynamics are playing out within us as individuals. Collectively, we can expect the current themes of the self/other dichotomy as seen in all the current social movements and political discourse to be challenged. At some point the polarization will be shattered by something much greater than us all, shocking us into remembering our shared humanity. This will play out differently for everyone and can appear in any and every aspect of life depending on our charts. As a species, we have deluded ourselves into thinking we know who and what we are and that we are better than the other. The sooner we come into our shared awareness as a species, the more prepared we will be to make the necessary renovations.
It’s fair to say that the whole of humanity is beginning a rebirth of
sorts, especially after coming out of the Covid lock downs. But how it
manifests is something else entirely. During the next year and and half while
Pluto advances into Aquarius, it is important we pay attention to what we sense on a gut level rather than operating from conditioned
responses. The inundation of issues and bombardment of messaging
renders it almost impossible to know what is real and what isn’t on a
fundamental level. This will come into focus once Pluto crosses 0 degree
Aquarius for the final time and Neptune and Saturn enter Aries late 2024 (more on this later). For now, this is
the time to practice establishing an inner authority, honoring the
body’s higher intelligence, and blending the two.
If you'd like to know more about your natal Pluto and what its transit in Aquarius means for you, leave a comment or send a message!

Wow, this explains a lot about what is going on in the worlds -- political and personal. I've never seen such upheaval and destruction of the past. It seems we are on a path of 'reset' no matter what and this explains that it is not just authority figures creating this demand but maybe those in power are trying to control it's trajectory? Thank you for this perspective, because I can feel more empowered to create transformation out of the chaos and destruction in my world. Now I need to figure out where all my houses fall in my chart. Is there an easy way for me to do this?
ReplyDeleteThanks for reading. Yeah, the illusion of control is definitely a thing right now for everyone. Those currently in power are struggling to hold on, and those who have been dis-empowered for so long are now realizing how much real power they have. To answer your question as in how to find where all the houses fall in your chart, you can go to astro.com, click on Horoscopes, and then select "Extended Chart Selection" under the Drawings, Calculations, and Data heading. It will take you to a page that will prompt you to enter your birth data. Fill out the details (ignore extended settings), and it will create your natal chart with all the houses. Or you can hit me up for a reading. I hope this helps, and I'm really glad you find the posts useful.
